This site is not about bashing World of Warcraft or decrying the evils of video game play. It is meant only as a resource to help people who get sucked too far in. Warcraft is the only game I've played for the last couple years, save for a few games of Starcraft while my internet was down, and I’ve found little reason to play any other game. That being said, for a long while I played WAY too much. The way WoW is structured, much like other MMORPG's, is such that in order to advance your character you must put in a good chunk of time. A lot of content will be repeated, it's not like Mario Bros. where you finish a level and are 'done'. There's no such thing as 'beating the game'. That might turn some people off, but for 9 million people and counting it has some big appeal.

Many people find that they end up playing a lot more than they intend. Some find that WoW starts replacing normal day to day activities and interfering with work/relationships. If you find yourself getting sucked too far in, we at WarcraftAddiction.com encourage you to take a look through the site and see if some of the things that helped us can help you cultivate healthy gaming habits.

Likewise, if someone you love is in too deep, take a look around and see some methods by which people have had success restoring balance into another’s life. Be warned though, that this can be a volatile situation. People don't tend to enjoy being told that they're wasting their life away or otherwise having people intrude upon their habits. There are many extreme cases where professional help should be sought. We are not professional therapists, though we have put many hours into the study of addiction, and more pertinently, countless hours playing Warcraft and struggling to find balance.

We wish you all the best, and welcome feedback through our upcoming forum.

Thanks for visiting the site, hope you find it informative.
